...and not a lot of this...
Or this...
Ellie seems to be awake a lot more than Gracie was at this age. She sure does seem to have a little touch of insomnia, just like her Dad does sometimes. Hopefully it will go away as all the drugs leave her system.
Gracie has been struggling with attention issues lately. It is pretty normal for the older sib, so we were prepared for it but that doesn't make it any easier to get through. She loves sucking on a pacifier now, or swaddling herself in a blanket, or trying to hijack a spot on a lap. She is also pretty much over her cold so now we are just dealing with teething (and the older sister syndrome). It is almost like she is saying "If I act like Sissy will you love me again?", which is pretty sad.
To brag on Gracie a little bit , she is learning her ABCs! We have been teaching them to her by sound so that reading phonetically is a little easier (that's the plan anyway). If you say "What does a A, B, C, D, F, G, K, N, O, P, S, T, or W say?" she will respond (most of the time) with the correct sound. She can also identify several letters by sight and make the appropriate sound at least some of the time. She sees a "buh" everywhere, which seems to be her generic sound for letters. S is her favorite, and she gets SOO excited when she gets them right! And I almost forgot...Lindsay heard her say A through H sounds in a row all by herself the other day! Wow!
The next time you talk to her on the phone, throw some of those letters at her and see what happens.
Well, I think it is time for bed. Talk to y'all later!
