10lbs...5oz...and counting!!

I took little Miss Ellie to the doctor Wednesday for a follow up to her health issues. As of Wednesday, she was still not sleeping, vomiting a ton, and having a lot of difficulty with pooping and gas. The doctor recommended trying Soy formula to see if that would do the trick but, sadly, we have been trying that for a while now to no avail. So, the doctor decided to put her on a hypoallergenic formula that is best for babies with a milk protein allergy and/or collic.She even gave us two mini cans of it to try out before we bought it ourselves. AND...so far....so good...We have seen marked improvment in her vomiting...it is more like normal baby spit up now and her pooping difficulties have improved,too. Still a little fussy when she needs to do business but not near the painful grunting she had and not the frequency with which she used to go. At this point we are cautiously optimistic that our little angel is on the road to recovery. It was very painful watching our sweet little baby suffer for so long and we couldn't seem to fix her. With that said....this miracle formula comes at a VERY high price. It is about twice as expensive as soy formula and it doesn't come in bulk. We are hoping that our insurance will help since it has been "prescribed" by our doctor. Just need to figure out that process. On a better note..she is free of her bronchitis and ear infection and she is continuing to put on weight. She was 10lb 5oz and counting! All we need is for her to start sleeping a little and we will be in business. Thank you all so much for your concern and prayers!
