House of Sickness

Well, Gracie likes to share...we all got the flu. Ellie seems to have avoided most of it so far, but the rest of us have had a hard time. Gracie started throwing up on Sunday. We were at a friend's house for lunch and she was just standing there looking at me. Then she coughed, and out came breakfast and Sunday School snack. She has been throwing up on and off until Tuesday night. I went home from work early on Tuesday to help try to keep the kids apart...hoping Ellie wouldn't get it. Lindsay started feeling lousy on Wednesday morning, so I stayed home to help take care of everything. Then about 10am I knew I was going to get it too.

So yesterday was rough. I have the utmost respect for Lindsay because I guess that is what morning sickness is like, and that takes months to get over. We both managed to keep the kids from dying, although Miss Ellie likes to pretend she is on the brink when she has to wait for a bottle more than 5 seconds. Her voice is back...and it is loud. She is having trouble sleeping and today she feel crummy, but she hasn't thrown up. It has been coming out the other end though. That is actually universal here.

Today we are feeling better. The BRAT diet is doing pretty well so far, and we have been blessed with wonderful neighbors who came over to check on us. They came back later and dropped off a "care package" with all the fixings for coming off the flu: Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, and Toast. They even made us fresh chicken broth and veggie soup! Wow. We are going to miss them someday when we leave this town!

No pictures today...awww, I know. Thanks for the prayers.

Wayne
