Weekend Madness

This was a busy Saturday...yesterday afternoon we decided it would be a great idea to have a yard sale today. We were up in the near freezing pre-dawn getting all the stuff out on the driveway...next time we will start it after the sun comes up. Yes, we had a pre-moving sale in Vegas, but we started looking around here and found even more stuff. The driving factor is that we would like to get a new dining room table that seats more people, but we can't buy one until we sell our old one. Then I thought I could sell my old computer to raise money for a new monitor. Well, it wasn't a total flop and we actually sold a decent amount of clothes, but our two big ticket items (old computer and table) remain in the garage. Lindsay is going to try again next weekend if she can find someone to help with the kids...this time she will advertise in the paper and we will try to get some people who are looking for the right things to come by.

Gracie loved shopping at our yard sale and did really well even though it was cold!

Anyway, we wanted to do something fun this week and we had talked about driving to Florida and seeing the ocean or going to the beach. Then we remembered there is a theme park right here in Valdosta! It is called Wild Adventures and it is a combination of roller coasters, a wildlife sanctuary, and a water park. It is actually a pretty decent place...the rides aren't near Magic Mountain or anything, but who cares? They have animals and kiddie rides and this summer maybe Grace will overcome her fear of water. We bought season tickets for CHEAP ($70!) and plan to go back a few more times this year. By the time we got done with the yard sale and Grace took a nap it was pushing 2pm but we went anyway. We stood in line for an hour to go on the wildlife safari (long wait but cool tour of the critters they have) and then we ate dinner and stood in line again to get our season passes. Gracie did as well as could be expected of a 1 year old standing in line and Ellie is loving her new formula so she did really well. Grace wanted us to go home after getting our passes so we did. This visit was not a total bust, but it wasn't exactly what we had in mind. I think we will go back tomorrow after church and try to get Gracie on some rides and maybe see the tiger show!

Part of the ride was in the free range area...no fences! Cool!

Grace ate a foot long corn dog and we know Ellie never misses a meal...

We are exhausted. It was a great day though. The garage will be clean when we get rid of the yard sale stuff and we really feel like we are putting down some roots by having season tickets to somewhere! All for now, time for bed.

Let me show you how to shoot this here water pistol...in my Realtree overalls.
